1. Jazz music began in the Southern United States during the early 20th century in African American communities. Jazz incorporates a lot of blues, march, and folk into its music. It created a mixture of European music with African American music of the time. Jazz is especially unique to America because during the Roaring 20's prohibition was occurring in the United States. Therefore, speakeasies became extremely popular and that is where Jazz music exploded.
2. In "Peter and the Wolf," string instruments play Peter, the oboe plays the duck, french horns play the wolf, a flute plays the bird, the bassoon plays the Grandfather, and the Hunters are played by woodwinds (timpani and bass drum are used for their gunshots).
3. Classical music started roughly around the 11th Century and is still conducted today. It incorporates instruments that are used in an orchestra. Some composers that are considered classical musicians are Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Wagner, Haydn, Handel, Chopin, and Stravinsky just to start the extensive list.
